Re: Bad Experience

I've never had much problems with any company that sent dead or non-viable
plants. (Well, except Mr. Probst, and the jury's out on that.) As
mentioned earlier, some nurseries have short reporting periods and some are
a year; there's one that's even "lifetime" if you can imagine. Also, some
nurseries are very chipper about fixing problems, most are fine, and one
I've ordered from twice is very gruff and distrusting (but they do make
good). This latter one has made so many mistakes and sent me such non-viable
material that I'm through with them, even though they have a good variety of
ferns, trillium, etc. :-(

I've always been willing to wait on plants that don't look viable, but I
call the nursery right away to report my disappointment and concern and to
let them know I may be requesting a refund/replacement later than their
deadline. They're always willing to go with that. Of course, it IS a
hassle to have to call back. I've got a list of 4 companies right now that
I have to call.

But I have to say, NONE of these has charged me for a complete order that
wasn't sent! I would be very suspicious about a company like that, and the
issue seems worth raising a small amount of turbulance over. In addition,
they don't exceed the S&H charge when sending additional partial orders than
what was calculated in the beginning as though the whole order were to be
sent at once.
