Thanks, Gene, Nancy Robinson suggested early dormancy as you have, and I
think you are both right. It has been very hot, very dry for weeks, and the
Amsonia is in a bed I have not given supplemental water to. Also, the
yellow tones are uniform all over the plant, which makes me think it's
dormancy, not disease. (I hope)

I've never grown Amsonia, but saw them on a garden tour thiis spring and
was hooked. Same with Trycirtus. On my recent trip to NC I bought T.
formosana 'Samurai' which has a variegated (gold edged) leaf . Lovely!
