Gunnera

I bought three gunnera this spring and they finally showed up, a tad
dehydrated, but I planted them anyway on the perimeter of a bog garden I
am making. They finally came up a week ago and look like they will take
off. Any suggestions from anyone and getting them to develop to giant
size real fast? What is the furthest north they can be left to winter
over themselves?

Hi George, only two things seem to slow it down here in NZ, that is frost
and roundup, the big ones have been classed as a noxious weed, the
birds spread the seeds and they grow a bit to well.
