Gail, what you say is interesting because I know for a fact that garden
writers unfamiliar with a plant will simply quote unquestioningly from
another book. I'd be curious to know from Bob or anyone who knows it what
its usual habitat is in the wild. I'd also like to know if it can take any
shade, since we are supposedly interested in shade plants. The lady in
Bedford who was growing it had it in hot afternoon sun (and presumably dry
soil) on the west side of her garage! This plant was a sort of grayish
white as I recall.
