Would you send me your picture please - I'm no expert but I do have a love
for these particular plants.  One question - are you sure it is a colocasia
and not an alocasia?

There is an alocasia call 'metallica' that is very large and the color is
much deeper than the colocasia 'black magic', I guess it is redder.
