Re: [SG] Japenese Magnolia

Jennifer - A lot of plants bloom more when you don't give then quiet enough
fertilizer - the hibiscus for instance. The more fertilizer you give it, the
less it blooms - to a certain extent.

The main purpose of just about anything on earth is to reproduce. If any
species feels that they are under nourished, they produce more flowers/seed,
so that they will have offspring before they die (thinking they'll die).
Because you never tend to your magnolia, it started blooming off season.
Maybe it's trying to send you a message huh? Maybe if you gave it some
nourishment, it might get back into the swing of things.

Humans throughout the world have this survival tactic also. Generally - the
more wealthy/healthy/secure you are, the less kids you have. In countries
where the death rate is high, the more kids people have. Of course, poorer
people wanting to be taken care of in your old age by their kids plays a
part too. So does having kids to help you work in the rice fields.
