Hi, Bill. The limbs are just above my head, so your suggestion to prune
would be appropriate.
Bobbi, I think I will try 'Miss Wilmott' - I planted her twenty years ago
in another location, and she died...but I know more now!
GardenGuy: Don't give up on your ferns and plant over them - they may just
have gone dormant early. I have some that do so when it is extremly hot or
dry, especially if I forget to water them, but they always come back in
nice shape the following year. They have gone dormant as early as July,
and stayed that way until spring. I especially have to watch Netted Chain
ferns and cinnamon ferns.
