John,
The ones that survived===please keep notes on how they look next year. I had
a strange thing happen along our property line where I had hostas planted.
Neighbors had lawn sprayed in April one year. Some hostas in a perfect
trapezoid, came up stunted and disfigured. I have always thought that the
spray got to the emerging hostas and caused the deformities.(Others right
next to them showed no signs of injury, etc.) Some have said a fungus causes
this phenomenon.
