Kris, think Paul is right about the light where you are. Here, they
will bloom in no direct sun, but the soil needs to be continually
moist...they do NOT like dry soil one little bit. Clay is OK, as
long as it is well amended as they are heavy feeders.
Dunno about your Heuchera as they can take sun and if you are
watering and the soil is decent, they should bloom. As I noted to
Donna, 'Palace Purple' is not something you want to grow for the
flowers - they are totally insignificant - grow it for the purple
foliage and move that baby before it fades away from competition:-)
