Hello Bobbi,
Partridgeberry is also native here locally. I just completed a plant portrait
on this one for a magazine to be published this fall or early winter.
This plant is iron-clad... nothing seems to bother it. I have had it several
years now in the garden and it has always been brightly evergreen, usually with a
few berries remaining until the next year's blooms come on. Hugs the ground like a
pancake. I use mine for filling in spots after Arisaema have gone dormant.
It is commercially available here.... just sold out and I am growing more up
in the holding area for this fall or next spring.
