Hello Roy,
        Hellebores are quite popular with shade gardeners, but just so happens
they are slow to mature. Takes about one year to germinate and then about 3
more years before they are mature enough to sell in the nursery. Some sell
at two years and you will have to wait one to two more years until you see
the first bloom. No one has been able to figure out a way to successfully
tissue culture these as yet and dividing is a long term deal as well,
although the English and Dutch do a bit of that one.
        Around here there are some H. odorus left that are bloom size. A few more
H. niger "sunset Red". This fall I will probably have seedlings of H.
fotedius, H. fotedius 'Wesker Flisk'. Perhaps some other species, but it is
too early to tell as yet.
