If you use Aluminum sulfate, follow the directions exactly.  It also seems to
be toxic to certain plants.  I have found iron or ferrous sulfate to be much
safer.  Too bad I can't find it around here any more.  I have had lots of Jap
and Sib Iris die using Aluminum sulfate.  Will never use it again.
