Donna-
I know here in zone 9 the Clematis will not take full sun but it does require
at least 6 hours of sun to bloom. I have been told by those with beautiful
Clematis' growing in their yards that in my zone they need their feet in the
shade. I've recently acquired one and have it in a front bed....shade feet
and sun on and off through out the day....It has not bloomed.
