I started two bulbs (Colocasia/Elephant Ears) indoors a few months ago, and
they have both taken off! Leaves are 1 to 1/5 feet across. I had planned to
put them outside for the summer in our Michigan (zone 5) climate, however,
I'm thinking I may keep them on my sun porch indefinitely (since we haven't
bought any furniture quite yet).
My question is this: Can I keep them growing indoors indefinitely? Is 60-65
degrees in the winter sufficient -- or will they go dormant? If I have to
dig them out of their pot anyway, I may as well put them outside to enjoy our
summer.
I also have 10 caladiums in pots inside which are doing spectacularly.
