Hello Marilyn & Bill,
Epimedium versicolor Sulfureum was my first epimedium purchased. It was
also the one I was told would take over my woodland garden in all its
invasiveness. Not.... or it has been gathering all its strength to make a
major leap after 12 years. Thus far, epimedium Lilafee is my favorite of all
the plants I have grown. When it first emerges in the spring the stems and
new foliage are almost purple-black. Which reminds me, need to get out there
and trim the dead foliage away before the new blooms begin. Bill, you should
have divided your x rubrum for sale. It was not available anywhere in the US
wholesale last year.
