Just a few further thoughts about Buddleias.....I have grown Black Knight,
Harlequin, and one from seed in my garden...I have lost a few others. The
davidii that I grew from seed is now about 7 feet tall.....a real shrub, and
its location is up against a south-facing wall. The first winter, I forgot
to cover it (it was an extra seedling) and it came through like gangbusters.
The other two are out in the border, and I mulch them heavily....but we have
had two mild winters too. I'm in zone 4/5, so I see every new year that they
