I live in a neighborhood devoid of children. Children never see our
garden, and the adults would never think of "imposing." Occasionally,
visiting grandkids do visit our pond (accompanied by a parent, always),
and we welcome them...talk about our fish and our flowers...explain to
them why they shouldn't throw things into the water that would scare the
fish, explain to them why we garden and how happy we are to share it with
everyone, which is why we leave the flowers rather than pick them. So
far, the kids on their occasional solo visits have never been a problem.
I think kids in the garden may be a real problem...but kids never in the
garden is a different, not better problem/solution.
