Is that tobacco mosaic virus?  What are the symptoms in an infected hosta?
I have heard that a smoker can spread TMV to susceptible plants if they
don't wash their hands before handling plants - I don't know if that's
true, or just another way of haranging smokers.  But I was a smoker when I
planted many of my hostas, and want to know if I could have spread TMV to
them.
