Sorry to be so long getting back to you. I just checked the local sod
nursery's web site for cold tolerance of El Toro. They say it is
extremely cold hardy and was tested at Purdue University. I've used it
at my parents house where nothing else would grow in a quite shady area
and here around one of my hosta display beds. See the site
