german bamboo??

hey all,
at a bonsai nursery , where i just had classes, i picked up a "german
bamboo".  it is not a true boo (sounds like a soneg, ehh??), but a very
clumpy grass.  it is about 8-10" tall, and "looks" very mini bamboo like.

does anybody have any idea what this critter may actually be??
