For those curious, my son had run his virus scanner on the file BEFORE opening. Unfortunately, it was one that was not detected by a 5 month old virus scan from MacAfee.
It's funny, he harps to me about making sure my check book is backed up and failed to do it himself. Hope he learned his lesson thoroughly this time.
