Re: [SG] monarda

Clyde: I put up my hummer feeder anywhere I darn please. I have not found
one location better than others. Some hummer lovers place the feeders near
the flowers they love. I, however, like to hang mine in a tree near the
deck; it's not close to blooms the hummers cherish. I simply want to get a
close look without leaving my deck chair (when I'm feeling lazy).

Red food dye isn't going to harm hummingbirds, according to a study I read.
I buy a commercial mix and mix it with water, changing every other day (in
hot summer, it may need to be changed every day or the liquid may spoil).
Usually, there is no need to change the liquid because the hummers are too
busy.

For some reason, my monarda don't attract a heavy case of mildew. Just
lucky, I guess.
