chickweed salad

Then again, you don't need to keep chickens to have chickweed
disappear.  You can eat it yourself. As soon as you actually want
weeds, they seem to disappear.

  I was served chickweed salad once when I was a guest.  I wouldn't
bother to serve it myself because I found it rather boring - as
tasteless as that crispy lettuce that used to be the only kind sold.
When I'm gathering weeds to eat I want some flavour.
