Re: holding area and chickens/holding areas

Hello Diann,
My name is not Kay, but I have some experience in that area. All of my holding
area is a cold frame constructed of railroad ties. I have tow storm windows I can
cover the frame with, but never have. All of my nursery and seedling area is the
same. Rail road ties 4 feet apart set on landscape mat. In the nursery display
area everything is packed in cypress mulch. Around and in between, but not over.
All of my plants sty in cycle and ride with the weather. Do not own a greenhouse
(then I would be in there working during the winter).
Our large pots we use around the house and patio, shrubs we did not get
planted this year, etc go to a corner by the woods, have leaves packet between
them and then bales of straw formed into an open box around them.
Don't think I have ever lost much to winter weather.
