How about silverbells, clethra, witchhazels(orange, yellow, Sandra,
Jolene, Prima Vera, many more, or fringe tree. I tend to like all the
scented small trees or tall shrubs for me and the hundreds of little
wild bees I am blessed with. In late February, it is a delight to hear
all the critters feasting on the blooms. The sourwood is also one of my
favorites and the leaf color in the fall with the old bloom clusters is
excellent.
