Double Bloodroot

Kate,
I was reading my notes from the talk by Martha Oliver and owe you a huge
apology.
I got mixed up on my doubles and gave you the information on Colchicum rather
than bloodroot. As I have had trouble with both of them I must have gotten
them confused. It's hard to apologize to someone when they have already
followed your bad advice.....not only was I describing the wrong plant, but
it was the exact opposite of the recommended treatment. The minute I read
Gene's comments I knew I better check my facts. If you have not already
learned, Gene is our authority in this area. I would imagine that there is
no one with more knowledge of shade plants for our area than Gene. His
nursery is a shade gardeners dream and his display beds would take your
breath away. All of those woodland plants are there growing like
weeds...while I am still struggling over the colchicums and double bloodroots.
He is wher I would go with any question on the subject and if he said to do
something, I would ignore the books recommendation and follow his.
Hopefully, your bloodroot was not happy in the old location and will find a
home that it loves even better ...I fear I have caused you a years delay in
your garden and I am very sorry. I would have gotten back with you sooner,
but have not been reading the postings in the correct order as I am more than
backed up.

Betty
