I am glad that you clarified this!
I grow my hydrangeas in complete shade here in zone 6. Did try some
lacecaps in sun and they wilt badly. 100 yr old, old fashioned
grandiflora trees ( 20 ft tall are also in complete shade and are
just wonderful!)
There is a whole world out there of these flowering shrubs.
Hardiness seems to be of importance. Thanks all for your info.
