Re: [SG] Planting Bulbs in Hosta Beds

I love variegated tulips!!! They are commonly found in the species groups and
a few hybrids are emerging with gorgeous yellow or white edged leaves!!!!
A favorite is 'Prince of Sanseviero'. A short growing early double tulip. With
pink blends in a parrot shaped flower, the leaves have a wide striking yellow
edge!!
there are others like New Design, Carnival de Nice and Cheerleader!!!

Interested in some Species Tulips Clyde??
I know of a local source here that could probably suit your needs.
What's great with the species is that their size doesn't really bother the
overall look of the garden when they start dying down. Some people take out
the plants with the bulbs when they finish blooming and with leaves intact
with the bulb allow the plants to die down. I've tried it before!!! I dug the
plants and stored them in a garage with some shredded newspaper. And they
cured just fine!

Early annuals and emerging perennials work great in masking afterblooms.

The only variegated iris I know is the pallida species and laviegata variegata
.

Good Luck!!
