Thanks, Paul. I'll run by and pick one up to experiment with tonight.
As to earthworms..I suspect they are talking not about your native
earthworms, but about Lumbricus terrestris, an introduced European invader
that is outcompeting the native worms in a lot of habitats. Native worms
usually increase soil fertility and reduce soil erosion.
