Your soil and conditions are almost identical to ours, except you get lower
winter temperatures.

Good question, I would have to say maybe anything in the last 10 - 15 years
although I think using the term modern is a bit obscure. I would describe
modern form as a break from traditional species form, something that has an
obviously bigger flower, different form, color, etc.

The best Siberians that I have from more recent times are:
ROARING JELLY - tops the list
MARY LOUSIE MITCHIE
CORONATION ANTHEM
JEWELLED CROWN
CHEERY LYN
I have the highest regard for these cultivars and the way they have
performed for me. I have a lot of others that I am still watching to see how
they perform. I had a number of recent introductions that I had too dig from
the field and put into pots because instead of increasing in clump size they
were decreasing.
After putting them in pots they have done much better, indicating that
perhaps our soil was on the dry and akaline side.
