I agree with you about Fortell not growing well in the US at least we don't 
see it very often. But on our trip to NZ in '00 we saw it growing in clumps 
in many gardens. Most I had ever seen was a single flower once or twice in 
the US. Somehow I am rather dubious of many of those early specie crosses.
