Hi Brook and Members of Sibrob
I have since been informed that the Wiki will now be available to all
for free but editing rights are members only. For this aspect I apologise.
This of course does not change my opinion on exclusivity especially as
the Wiki is available on one site only "all roads will lead to Rome"
I have had some experience on the internet and All the Siberian Irises
that I have posted on my Blog in February 2009 Siberian Iris Feature
have at least top ten page ranking on Google. Try searching "Siberian
Iris 'HOW AUDACIOUS' and you will see what I mean. Click the "show more
results from historiciris.blogspot.com" and it features 6 or so Siberian
Iris varieties. This is how the internet works No page rank No visits,
and this is my point. If members are starting to understand that the
future of plant societies rests in having a good presence on the
internet then page rank is essential to make this work and the SSI needs
a strong a vibrant web site to make this work. I strongly believe You
can have a great web site but when you steer your visitors to another
web site for more authoritative and detailed information on your
specialist subject you loose credibility.
If the Siberian Iris Society wishes to have a strong future it will need
a Strong digital media presence.
