Hi Melanie - just got back from Auburn, ME and the services for Evelyn
White...really a celebration of her life. Saw many Maine Iris Society
members and also the Wheelers from Western MA (Andy and family).

I agree with Christy about Little Blue Sparkler - bet it isn't 'dead'. I
hold that you almost can't water Siberians or water-loving irises too much
when you first plant...keep watering twice daily until new green growth is
showing. I would also put a pine needle mulch (plenty of that in Maine for
free :) around the rhizomes to ensure that they don't dry out. I have had
two or three Siberians that I thought were goners - Orville Faye and
Butter & Sugar were two that come to mind. I kept on watering and they
eventually started to send up new green shoots..

I gave up too early years ago on Eric the Red and have regretted it. I dug
it up and planted something in its place.

I personally that Little Blue Sparkler is not as robust as its sibling
Snow Prince or as attractive but it is a fine iris all the same.
