That would be Polygonun cuspidatum or Japanese knotweed also Mexican Bamboo
Before you are are finished with the remvoval of this plant you will have
other names for it.
We have some of this on a property where we do not live. It grows at
woodsedge and into the woods and under the neighbors fences. Planted, no
doubt, in innocence fifty yers ago the plant is kept in check by running the
lawn mower around it's place. No one gardens on this property/ Polygonum is
capable of send runners underground fifty feet from the parent plus you need
to know evey part of the plant can sprout a new plant. Good luck to Andew.
