spent stalks

I had never tried removing the stalks as I do the bearded -- have always
cut them down later and suffered the pokes in the ears, cheeks and
eyes. This is so much easier and doing it when I'm examining and
enjoying the clumps anyway and removing the spent blooms/potential seed
pods is a pleasure. Thank you whoever asked the original question and
came up with the solution!!
