About tagging crosses

Bill,
I use a a plastic slip-on tag to label crosses and write on it with a #2 pencil. That same tag goes with the harvested seedpod and then on to the flat when the seed is sown. I figure that the fewer times I write something down, the les likely that I'll make a mistake. The first time I used them, I had a little difficulty getting them on without damaging the stalk, but now I swear by them.

.....and since you need a photo to communicate, this is what it looks like: http://academyhouse.mystarband.net/images/Scan152.jpg

>As a point in passing, I have difficulty with the critters eatin' the cross
info from the string tags I use if I write on the finished side of the tags.

Smiles,
Bill Burleson
