AIS Madison, WI convention and unknown blue [2 Attachments]

For the second time in a few years, a Siberian iris was voted the favorite iris from out-of-region at the American Iris Society's recent convention in Madison, WI. The winner of the Franklin-Cook cup was 'Tree of Songs', hybridized by Schafer/Sacks of Joe Pye Weed in Massachusetts. It was a very impressive iris at the convention where the bearded took a second place to the Siberians which were in peak bloom.

Kudos to Marty and Jan!

Bob Hollingworth's 'Strawberry Fair' won the Franklin-Cook cup previously.

Here is the skinny from the Iris Register online about Tree of Songs:

I have also attached an unknown blue that was sent to me a few years ago by Laurie Fraser of Minnesota in hope that it could be identified. Does anybody have a clue as to what it would be? I think I might have asked the Sibrob this same question before...it is the most vibrant blue and I am guessing it is a diploid but don't know for sure.  I took this picture yesterday as we come into Siberian peak bloom....yes, we are almost on schedule...a week early for Sibe peak here in the mountains.
