Re: (sibrob) Cult: extending Sib season

From: Sylborg@aol.com

Hello all,

The hot, dry season cut the bloom short, but what a glorious season it was.
TB's out did themselves due to putting horse manure plus lime under beds in
'98. Where we mulched Siberians with same, the bloom was longer and better,
but shorter stalks. The best all around variety, other than my own, was
Harpswell Showburst. A light blue w/white burst on falls, a lg. tet bloom,
very well branched. Can't say enough about it. A seedling of Marty's,
S-93-76-2, was amazingly sunfast, a tremendous improvement in yellow. We
continue to be in love with a few of our seedlings out of Lake Keuka X Seneca
Night Sky and will intro some next spring. Spuria iris are blooming now.
They relish this hot, dry weather with a hosing now and again, along with
Louisiana and Versicolor.

The latest Sib is always King of Kings - still in hard bud - blooms with the
Japanese iris. Now to get ready for next year. Never ending.
