Re: The Director's Garden

From: Irisborer@aol.com

The Director of the Buffalo Botanical Gardens asked me to come over to the
Gardens last night and give him some advice on appropriate siberian irises
for a particular spot that he has.

Dr. Headley is a brilliant man, with one quirk..... he falls in love with
pictures in catalogs and obsesses. In this case, he has fallen in love with
a picture of the siberian STEVE in the Wayside Catalog.

He is convinced STEVE is a 6 fall siberian of particular beauty. I'm not
sure of any of it, so I throw the topic out for discussion.

1. Is STEVE a flat siberian??
2. Is STEVE a saturated royal blue?
3. Is STEVE a tall and stately flower??
4. If none of this is true (which is my suspicision), can anyone recommend a
saturated, and large, royal blue siberian of modest cost??

I'm trying to break him of his bad habits, by the way. You should see the
tissue culture hostas he bought! Ei yi yi! Any relationship to the real
thing ends at the name tag.
