Re: The Director's Garden (Steve)

From: "R. Dennis Hager" <rdhager@dmv.com>

Kathy,
'Steve' is one of those Siberians that should not be examined too closely. I have
a clump of it growing in a distant part of the garden and I am quite happy with
its performance. By Siberian standards it is "flat", but I would tend to call it
floppy. The effect is lots of rich saturated royal blue, which draws your eye to
the area. Personally, I think it is a great plant for accent in a large perennial
border, out performing many of the more modern selections, but for the collector
of exquisite show specimens it is a real dog. Once again, beauty is in the eye of
the beholder.

Missed you in Portland.
