Re: Siberian species


When we arrived in NZ (or Calif) I had some dried fruit which was maybe not 
to be brought in so I was in the process of going to declare it and I turned 
around and Jill Copeland was bing sniffed by the beagle (maybe-forgot). She 
had had 2 apples in her bag and had eaten both of them on the plane--but the 
odor was still there and they were not to be brought in. NZ is getting very 
strict on importations not only of plants but even of seeds because they 
don't want any more plant pests--such as the Scotch Broom which they brought 
in for hedges--vey windy there and they must use hedges or screening for wind 
protection. They didn't take my dried fruit snacks but we laughed. Anna Mae
