Dennis, Thom, and robins,
 A good point has been made about deep planting. SI are one of the few plants that
I feel do well with deep planting. It doesn't seem to matter in what type of soil.
If you were to plant, say an azalea, daylily or bearded Iris deep, you would have
made a mistake. My deeply planted SI and JI do much better, and require less
division. Jim
