I can't participate in the Siberian bloom report since I am just at
peak in the MDB class...and a few SDBs (7) are blooming. It is a crazy year
with the worst leaf spot I have ever seen and the best bloom that
I have ever seen - floriferousness to the max. The IBs, MTBs, BBs and also
the TBs are just exploding into green bud and I fear that I may have some
bloomout (in our climate!) on some TBs. I would love to have bloomout on at
least one TB to be able to say it can happen even in Zone 3. This shows a
perverted sense of 'Zone Loyalty'. :)
Only some green bloomstalks on I. typhifolia and that is it for SIBS
folks. JEWELLED CROWN and WINDWOOD SERENADE have the biggest clumps for 2
yr. old Siberians. MOON SILK is not far behind.

IOWA:
I am also going to Iowa but have to leave on Wed. (like a day and a half
from now since I am driving. That is correct - a little insanity never hurt
anybody is my motto. That way I can see some relatives on the return trip if
my little '97 Hyundai cooperates and I have warned it that it better or
there will be trouble in its future.
