Re: Iowa and A Different Kind of Bloom Report....

Ellen (and all of you who will be attending Siberillenium): Hope your Hyundai (or whatever vehicle transports others) heeds the warnings
and gets you to Iowa City in good time, spirits, and health. I am looking forward to seeing many of you so I can put faces and personalities with these names I've been reading for so long. Here in NW Iowa, across the state from the convention sites and farther north than any of them, we are at peak Siberian bloom now. So I hope we can still see enough in the convention gardens to make it all worthwhile. This is a banner year for bloom, despite the strange, half-a-clump-normal-half-of-it-short phenomenon that others of you have also reported. It is as if nothing has been normal this spring, but the flowers are certainly there, whatever the normality.
