Everyone has a different way of handling Sibe transplants. ;)

I have never transplanted any Sibe or JI without soaking them and
changing the water every day. (The most important part of this is
to make sure the markers are attached firmly with a rubber band.)

I don't have good luck with transplanting garden plants of any
kind, so as they are doing their soaking, I dig and amend the soil.
I have found that it is better to soak them in the shade..why I
don't know. They just do better for me...not very scientific. Is
Bob H. reading this? Also, I have found that they want to be in
the ground not in a pail or bucket so I try never to exceed
more than 4 days or if they are in bad shape, I examine for new white
roots and then plant ASAP and water profusely twice a day until I
see new green growth and then cut back the watering to once a day.

Even though we live in a mountainous, usually rainy climate, I still
water. Oh, they are mulched as well and planted more than the
recommended depth. *I do not water established clumps, BTW.*

*Chris, if you are going to pot first, try your garden soil mixed
with sphagnum peat moss and give those roots plenty of room but I
am known as the killer of potted garden plants...
