Jim,
If your climate is that mild, you should have absolutely no problem
transplanting this late. If the "clumps" you are moving are small, they
should hardly know that they were transplanted if you move with soil. If
you ground rarely freezes, I imagine you could move without soil, water
well, and mulch and they would do just fine.
