RE: Commercial success

I sell a fair number of Siberians each year, both through my catalog and
on-site sales. Although we try to specialize in beardless iris I find that
we now sell more bearded that any other type. In order of sales quantities:
bearded, Louisiana, Siberian, Japanese, all others. However, our best
selling iris almost every year is CAESAR'S BROTHER. I don't see that tissue
culture would help. What really causes demand to increase for us is a good
picture in our catalog, a good picture on our web page or an article in a
publication like Southern Living or the Atlanta Journal. We've been wiped
out twice by the Atlanta Journal, once for I. fulva and once for I.
tectorum.

  Hello everyone!

I am not clear as to how many commercial members are part of the list, but
I
will ask the question anyway. How have the commecial sales of Siberians
been
this year and the last few years? What are the issues limiting SIs in the
  commercial marketplace?
Would a tissue culture procedure help. Is this something SSI should
  investigate and invest?

  Bill
