Re: Bloom Stalks

Thanks all for the info. Just one question do I need to let the anthers dry before the go in the fridge? I collected pollen yesterday from Silent Tears and Stol-Bee. I want to try it on my arils which should bloom about the first of the week.  I tried Silent Tears on three Tb's I presently have in bloom. Sharon McAllister recommended it be tried with tetraploids. One cross was on Michigan Pride the other two are a couple of Noids I have. I want to see if there are any takes.  I presently have  bloom stalks on about a dozen of my aril and arilbreds. Predominately the arils. Dunshanbe has 7 bloom stalks. Merlin's Magic should bloom any day. I also have seen bloom from two Ib's Viper and Hi. Sure makes one impatient doesn't it ?

Randall,

I didn't see a reply to this.  I collect pollen and store it in labeled
Dixie cups in the refrigerator.  I know it's been good for at least four
weeks.  I use an artist's brush to apply it.  My season is usually a short
one, but it's going to be longer this spring unless the weather cuts it off
one way or the other.  It's awfully cool here today.
