Re: little pod worms


Thanks for the info.  I wonder if putting a fine mesh net, or light fabric 
around those most select pods might protect them.  Might have to try 
that next year and see if it works.  i'll need to research the moths and 
find out how big they are.  I've only found a few pods effected this year, 
and none completely.  Thanks again for the info.  Will W.

Following is a response I got on another list re the little worms in
pods.  Apparently they are primarily a nuisance only to hybridizers
in that they damage the seed crop.  For just a grower, they don't
cause much damage apparently.


Re:  worms in pods.  THE BOOK (Warburton and Hamblen) indicates that
this is
the work of the verbena bud moth. I get them occasionally.
