Especially after thinking about INKY ICON to which Bill refers--the new intro from Tom Burseen--I think another area to explore at some date would be the genetics that determine the colors of the SA extensions.  I haven't a clue other than that on which I commented earlier--the possibility that the color of the shelf determins the color of the flounce/spoon or horn.  It might be of some value to note data about self vs contrasting color of the extension in passing as we evaluate our seedlings, but only if it doesn't complicate our work further. 
 
I wonder if anyone else has given thought to this.
